Taking to social media on Saturday (8.12,) SZA posted A behind-the-scenes clip from her upcoming “Snooze” video as well as an unreleased track.
In the steamy clip, the top charting singer/songwriter dances for what appears to be a propped up robot. The slow jam’s about a man who’s gotten her attention as she sings “Diamond boy why you so shiny? Diamond boy gon’ get behind me/Diamond boy your light’s so blinding,” alongside the Instagram caption “Bts from snooze video but not snooze audio.”
Later that day, the artist (born Solána Imani Rowe) shared an additional piece of music and video clip of herself and a man in water at night, as she sings “I keep pretending, everyone’s as good as me… All my exes still love me/Call me up, you want to freak.”
A standout track (and a Barack Obama favorite) from SZA’s sophomore studio album SOS that arrived in December 2022, “Snooze” reached #1 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart.
SZA is up has been nominated for six Moonmen at the upcoming 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, which take place on 9.12, with multiple nods for “Kill Bill” and “Shirt.”
