The latest in his ever-expanding catalogue of collaborations, Skrillex releases “Xena” with Palestinian singer, composer, and flutist, Nai Barghouti.
On Thursday (2.02) Barghouti took to social media with a video of he and Skrillex in the studio with new track playing in the background and the caption “I still remember the very first time we met.” “We shook hands and just kind of knew that something great will come out of it. Beyond thrilled and honored to be part of this incredible track with the one and only @skrillex.”
‘Xena’ is Skrillex’s fifth song to preempt a potential double album, that the EDM musician previously teased with a video loaded with song snippets and the mysterious caption, “QFF/DGTC 23.” The deejay/producer/artist’s recent collabs include “Rumble” with Fred Again.. and grime MC/producer Flowdan, “Way Back” with PinkPantheress and Trippie Redd, “Leave Me Like This” with Bobby Raps, “Real Spring” with Bladee.
2023 marks a major big return from Skrillex, who’s not released a solo full-length since 2014’s Recess. In 2015.
