Selena Gomez’s Makeup Line Denounces Israeli-Hamas War

After Selena Gomez received push back for stating that her social media post’s couldn’t make a difference regarding the Israel-Hamas war, on Monday (11.06,) the superstar singer’s Rare Beauty makeup brand released the following Instagram statement:

“We are devastated by the images & reports coming from the Middle East.” “Thousands of innocent Palestinian civilians have been killed in Israeli airstrikes & millions of civilians have been displaced & left without access to food, water, medicine, or basic necessities for survival. A large number of these victims are children.”

After asserting that “Palestinian civilians must be protected, period,” the brand statement also acknowledged the Israeli victims of a Hamas attack carried out last month.

“We remain heartbroken by the horrible terror attack against innocent civilians in Israel on October 7th, many of them also children. There is no situation where attacks on civilians are acceptable.” “We strongly denounce any & all forms of anti-Semitism and Islamophobia.”

On Saturday (10.06,) at 6:30am local time, Hamas attacked Israel by launching a rocket attack followed by an on-the-ground invasion of an electronic music festival as well as civilian streets and homes.

Since early-October, Israel has since retaliated by killing some 10,000 Palestinians, including approximately 4,000 children, with 500,000+ people in northern Gaza facing starvation as food supplies run “perilously” low.

Rare Beauty’s social media statement went in to say “We urge everyone to support humanitarian organizations working tirelessly to provide aid & relief to those in need. Every bit of help can make a difference.” “Rare Beauty will be making donations to the International Red Cross/Red Crescent Societies – Magen David Adom, & Palestinian Red Crescent Society – who are providing urgent care on the ground. We will also be donating to UNICEF to help get urgent medical relief & resources to the children of Gaza.”

Since Selena Gomez’s beauty brand issued the aforementioned statements, the chanteuse has since shared that she will be “taking a break” from social media.
