The latest in an ever-increasing list of legal battles, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is now reportedly the subject of an ongoing New York criminal investigation.
On Wednesday (7.03) reliable sources told NBC News that a federal grand jury in the Southern District of New York is hearing evidence as part of the investigation into the rapper’s behavior. While the nature of the probe has not yet been disclosed, a law enforcement official with extensive knowledge of the proceedings told Deadline “This is the next step in the process for Mr. Combs as the investigation continues.”
The official also confirmed that the now 54-year old, former superstar rapper/business man and his legal team were formally notified of the grand jury last week.
The latest report comes three months after the once-lauded musician’s Los Angeles and Miami properties were raided by federal agents.
Accused of sexual misconduct in several lawsuits since November 2023, the latest complaint was filed on Wednesday (7.03) by a former adult film star, Adria English, who is suing Diddy for alleged sexual trafficking, claiming that Combs forced her to have sex with guests at his parties in the 2000s.
In a statement to TMZ, Jonathan Davis, the rapper’s lawyer, once again denied the allegations, saying:
“No matter how many lawsuits are filed, it won’t change the fact that Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted or sex trafficked anyone.” “We live in a world where anyone can file a lawsuit for any reason and without any proof. Fortunately, a fair and impartial judicial process exists to find the truth and Mr. Combs is confident he will prevail against these and other baseless claims in court.”
The downfall of the former hip-hop star began when his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura accused him of rape and domestic violence in November 2023. Though Puffy originally denied the allegations via his lawyer, they settled her lawsuit days later. However, in May of this year, a video surfaced showing the musician punching and kicking Ventura in a hotel hallway in 2016. Combs subsequently apologized for his “inexcusable” behavior, saying in a social media clip that he was “disgusted” by his actions.
