Sean Combs Jury Selection Begins

At the start of today’s (5.05) highly anticipated Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs‘ trial and jury selection, the presiding judge took note of the lengthy list of nicknames the embattled music mogul is known by.

Federally charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution, the now 55-year-old musician/entrepreneur was arrested in New York last September. And it was just last week that the defendant rejected a plea deal, pleading “not guilty” to the charges held against him.

According to TMZ, Judge Arun Subramanian recited the list of nicknames the rap star has had throughout the years, including “Puff Daddy, Diddy, other names … and Love.”

After being granted a request to wear civilian clothing rather than jail scrubs for the duration of the trial, at start of today’s proceedings Combs attended the Daniel Patrick Moynihan Courthouse in Lower Manhattan wearing a suit and reading glasses.

While the jury selection process is expected to take “several days,” the court was told to anticipate the case to go on for eight weeks.

In additional to the original three charges, in April of this year Combs was hit with two further charges – including an additional sex trafficking count, and another transportation to engage in prostitution charge.

Thus far Sean Combs has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
