Sean Combs’ 50-Month Prison Sentence

It’s official! Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was sentenced to four years and two months in prison on prostitution-related charges.

After being found guilty in July of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, on Friday (10.03,) following a lengthy hearing in New York, Judge Arun Subramanian sentenced Combs to 50 months in prison.

Rejecting his defense teams claim that Combs’s relationships with his ex-girlfriends Cassie Ventura and Jane were consensual, the Manhattan judge said “You abused them, physically, emotionally and psychologically.”

While a number of people spoke during the hearing – including six of Combs’s seven children – for the first time since his conviction, the disgraced musician asked the judge for “mercy” and acknowledged his “disgusting, shameful, and sick” actions, and he apologized to Ventura and Jane, who both testified during the trial. Combs then turned to face his seven children and his mother, Janice, and apologized to them as well, saying they “deserved better.”

While the rapper’s defense team advocated for 14 months, the state prosecutors had recommended and eleven-year prison sentence.

Ruling that the government “presented overwhelming evidence of Combs’s guilt” during the trial in May, earlier this week Subramanian denied Combs’ team request for a new trial or an acquittal.

On the eve of his sentencing, the 55-year-old guilty party wrote a four-page letter to the judge in which he apologized for his “past wrongs” and asked for leniency, insisting he had become a changed man in prison and will “never commit a crime again”.

Sean Combs has been behind bars since his arrest in September 2024.
