Sam Asghari Files For Divorce From Britney Spears

Fourteen months after they said ‘I Do,’ Sam Asghari has filed for divorce from Britney Spears.

On Wednesday (8.16,) several hours after it was reported that the high profile couple had gone their separate ways, the Iranian-American model/actor filed paperwork to divorce the pop superstar.

Listing their date of separation as July 28, according to TMZ, the now 29-year-old husband of the embattled singer cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for ending the nuptials.

Asking for spousal support and for his legal fees to be paid, Asghari’s attorney, Neal Hersh, is reportedly indicating that Sam will also contest their prenuptial agreement, stating:

“(Sam) has yet to determine the full nature and extent of the separate property assets and obligations of each party.” “There are various items of community and quasi-community assets and debts, the full nature and extent of which are unknown to (Sam) at this time.”

After meeting in 2016 on the set of Spears’ ‘Slumber Party’ music video, Britney and Sam began dating and subsequently tied the knot at her California home in June 2022.

On Wednesday (8.16,) the now 41-year-old singer was seen driving in California without her wedding ring, and according to Page Six, she’s hired divorce lawyer to the stars, Laura Wasser, to represent her.

While sharing a (8.16) Instagram post, the controversial hitmaker did not address the divorce:

“Buying a horse soon!!! So many options it’s kinda hard !!! A horse called Sophie and another called Roar ??? I can’t make up my mind!!! Should I join the camaraderie and put a pink cowboy hat on??? Either way I think I found my sweet spot with Roar!!!” she wrote beside a photo of her riding a horse on a beach.

In 2004, Britney Spears was married to Jason Alexander for just 55 hours and to Kevin Federline, the father of her two sons, from 2004 to 2007.
