Following one of the most competitive years in the history of the international charts, the IFPI confirmed that ‘APT.,’ the infectious collaboration between Rosé and Bruno Mars was the Biggest-Selling Global Single of 2025.
Last year’s winner is of historic importance, representing the very first time a composition featuring non-English lyrics has topped the IFPI Global Single Chart, and it also marks the first time an artist outside North America or Europe has claimed the number one position, and proof positive that language and regional barriers are rapidly dissolving.
Representing his first IFPI number-one single since “Just The Way You Are” in 2011, last year’s win represents a triumphant return to the top for Mars, whose collaboration was supported by a sophisticated, global record label campaign that combined radio play, digital streaming, and aggressive marketing across multiple continents and platforms.
In addition to ‘APT,’ other high-profile collaborations dominated the top tier of the list, with “Golden” by HUNTR/X from the K-Pop Demon Hunters soundtrack, Bruno and Lady Gaga’s “Die With A Smile,” alongside Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s “Luther” that locked in the eighth slot.
