Rosalía will be honoured with the International Songwriter of the Year Award at the Ivor Novello Awards next month.
The Spanish singer-songwriter has been chosen for the honour as her work has made a significant cultural and commercial impact in the U.K. over the past year, according to the announcement.
The organisers of the annual British songwriting ceremony praised the Berghain singer for “transcend(ing) language and genre barriers” with her “revelatory” 2025 album LUX, which was written in 13 different languages.
“Her songwriting moving fluidly across form, language and genre, creating work that feels both deeply authentic and distinctly original,” they continued.
Rosalía will be presented with the award at the 71st Ivor Novello Awards, also known as The Ivors, on 21 May at Grosvenor House in London.
“We are proud to celebrate ROSALÍA as International Songwriter of the Year. Her songwriting has captured the hearts and minds of audiences around the globe,” Roberto Neri, CEO of The Ivors Academy, said in a statement. “With lyrics in over 13 languages, Rosalia has broken down barriers and borders, and I’m delighted she will be celebrated by our community and industry as she picks up her first Ivor Novello Award. This recognition reflects our growing global outlook and celebrates songwriters defining music and culture.”
Charli XCX was honoured with the Songwriter of the Year Award last year.
Rosalía has been on a successful streak since the release of LUX. In February, she won the BRIT Award for International Artist of the Year, and earlier this month, she was named Woman of the Year at the Billboard Latin Women in Music presentation.
