Rosalía Is Ivors Songwriter Of 2026

On May 21, at the Ivor Novello Awards, Rosalía will receive the International Songwriter of the Year Award at Grosvenor House in London.

In a formal announcement, the Spanish singer-songwriter has been selected as her work has made a significant cultural and commercial impact in the United Kingdom over the past year,

Praising the Berghain-born singer/songwriter for “transcend(ing) language and genre barriers” with her “revelatory” 2025 album LUX, which was written in 13 different languages, the annual British songwriting ceremony organizers said:

“Her songwriting moving fluidly across form, language and genre, creating work that feels both deeply authentic and distinctly original.”

Known to the public as The Ivors, the musician (born Rosalia Vila Tobella Vila Tobella) will be presented with the award at the 71st Ivor Novello Awards, about which CEO of The Ivors Academy, Roberto Neri said:

“We are proud to celebrate ROSALÍA as International Songwriter of the Year. Her songwriting has captured the hearts and minds of audiences around the globe.” “With lyrics in over 13 languages, Rosalia has broken down barriers and borders, and I’m delighted she will be celebrated by our community and industry as she picks up her first Ivor Novello Award. This recognition reflects our growing global outlook and celebrates songwriters defining music and culture.”

Since the release of LUX, the 33-year old songstress Rosalía has been on a roll winning the BRIT Award for International Artist of the Year in February, and being named Woman of the Year at the Billboard Latin Women in Music presentation.

Charli XCX was honoured with the 2025 Songwriter of the Year Award.
