Including the likes of fellow BST headliners Sabrina Carpenter, Bridgerton’s Luke Newton, James Corden, and Rodrigo’s boyfriend Louis Partridge, during Friday night’s (6.27) American Express presents BST Hyde Park debut on Friday night (6.27,) Olivia Rodrigo delivered 19-song pop songs.
Taking the Great Oak Stage in front of 65,000 fans, the now 22-year old songstress said “Oh my God, there’s so many people here I can’t believe my eyes!” “London, did you know you guys are my favorite city? This is like my dream gig! It’s such a magical night and we get to watch the sunset together – it’s so romantic.”
The show had a crescendo moment when Rodrigo introduced “one of my favorite Brits and one of the best songwriters of all time” – Ed Sheeran, who joined Olivia for an acoustic duet of his 2011 classic, ‘The A Team.’
Donned in a silver-sequin-tassled outfit, the American-born singer/songwriter delivered a hit-packed set, including ‘Bad Idea Right,’ ‘Traitor,’ ‘Vampire,’ ‘Drivers License,’ and ‘Happier’ along with an encore that featured ‘Brutal,’ ‘All American Bitch,’ ‘Good 4 U,’ and ‘Get Him Back.’
Olivia Rodrigo’s debut solidified the BST Hyde Park reputation, promising more unforgettable performances from upcoming headliners like Zach Bryan, Noah Kahan, Sabrina Carpenter, and Stevie Wonder.
