Rihanna has received five 2023 Emmy nominations for her Super Bowl Halftime Show performance.
Following the formal announcement, on Wednesday (7.12,) the superstar singer took to her Instagram account to address the television-related nods with:
“Pull up breed up 2 d bashment (sic),” Riri captioned photos from her February performance. “5 EMMY NOMZ is craaaaazzzyyy!!! Im so grateful for every single person involved in creating these memories (sic)!”
In all, the American football Halftime Show was also nominated for Outstanding Production Design for a Variety Special, Outstanding Music Direction, Outstanding Technical Direction and Camerawork for a Special, and Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special for Jay-Z and Hamish Hamilton.
Other nominees in this category include Chris Rock: Selective Outrage, Elton John Live: Farewell From Dodger Stadium, The Oscars, and the 75th Annual Tony Awards.
Born Robyn Rihanna Fenty, the Superbowl performance marked the Barbadian singer’s live comeback after taking time off from music to focus her attention on her beauty and fashion businesses. And it was during the sporting event show that she also revealed her pregnancy with her second child with A$AP Rocky.
The 2023 Primetime Emmy Awards will be held on 18 September.
