The nominations for the 2023 Golden Globe Awards include Taylor Swift, Rihanna, and Lady Gaga along with Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis which got three nods for Best Motion Picture – Drama, Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama (Austin Butler as Elvis Presley), and Best Director – Motion Picture.
Swift, Rihanna, and Lady Gaga will go head-to-head in the Best Original Song – Motion Picture category: Taylor for Where the Crawdads Sing’s “Carolina”; RiRi for the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever song “Lift Me Up,” and Gaga for Top Gun: Maverick’s “Hold My Hand.”. The other nominees in this pack include are “Ciao Papa” (a track from Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio) and “Naatu Naatu” from RRR.
The 2022 Golden Globe for Best Original Song went to Billie Eilish and Finneas for “No Time to Die.” Hans Zimmer won Best Original Score for his work on Dune, and Lady Gaga was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama.
The 2023 Golden Globes will be hosted by Jerrod Carmichael and will air on NBC on Tuesday, January 10. The full list of nominees are here.
