Opening her first ever Saturday Night Live musical guest appearance, Raye performed “Escapism,” from last year’s My 21st Century Blues, from her debut studio album.
The SNL stage set was similar to when the British singer/songwriter recorded a live version of her LP at London’s Royal Albert Hall last fall when she was joined by the Flames Collective, a 30-piece gospel choir, and the Heritage Orchestra.
Raye’s debut full length won Album of the Year at the 2024 Brit Awards, and at that ceremony, the musician (born Rachel Agatha Keen) also won four other categories including Songwriter of the Year, Best R&B Act, Best New Artist, and Artist of the Year.
Raye’s upcoming tour dates include spots at Coachella later this month and at Lollapalooza in August.
