Attracting a massive crowd of 69,999, Pitbull made history by headlining the highest-attended show in the history of American Express presents BST Hyde Park.
Taking time out of his 27-date I’m Back global tour, the Miami-born Latin superstar also officially secured a Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people wearing bald caps simultaneously.
Thanks to 22,141 beige rubber cap-wearing fans, the historic moment was officially verified at 5:00 PM BBC Radio 1’s Greg James who led the official count on the Great Oak Stage, while Guinness World Records Adjudicator Will Munford presented a framed certificate to an emotional Pitbull just before he took the stage.
Turning the historic gathering into a massive celebration, the musician (born Armando Christian Pérez) delivered a high-octane 20-song setlist, including such hits as “Don’t Stop The Party,” “Hotel Room Service,” and “International Love.” Before inviting special guests Lil Jon and Kesha on stage for the finale that included “Gasolina,” “Timber,” and “Fireball,” the artist was supported by an incredible live production, and massive performance medleys.
Dedicated to the England football team ahead of their World Cup quarter-final match against Norway, the 45-year old singer paid homage to his British fans and the host nation’s major sporting weekend by performing a special cover of Oasis’s anthemic classic “Wonderwall,”
The star-studded lineup featured a selection of chart-topping support acts including Kesha who delivered a heavily revised, independent electronic set featuring her signature hits “TikTok” and “Joyride.” British rapper Tinie Tempah made a triumphant festival return with “Pass Out” and “Written In The Stars,” alongside energetic sets from Lil Jon, Mexican norteño band Los Tucanes De Tijuana, Tia Kofi, Mae Hill, and Sanity.
