In securing another chart-topping milestone with his latest release, The Boys of Dungeon Lane, Paul McCartney has extended his lead as the most successful albums act in the history of the UK Official Chart, with his current LP coming in at #1, marking the musician’s 20th solo studio album and bringing his career total to an unprecedented 24 top charters throughout his 70 professional years.
The iconic singer/songwriter’s modern music history includes fifteen #1 collections as a core member of The Beatles, two fronting Wings, one alongside his late wife Linda McCartney for the 1971 masterpiece Ram, and six as a solo artist. The now 83-year old artist’s chart-topping lineage began in 1963 with Fab Four’s debut album Please Please Me, extending through the likes of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and Abbey Road, through to his recent solo collections McCartney III in 2020 and now The Boys of Dungeon Lane.
Setting a level of excellence that remains unmatched by any other group or solo performer in UK music history, Paul’s latest achievement further solidifies his status as the most prolific album chart artist of all time.
The Boys of Dungeon Lane is available now across all physical and digital formats worldwide.
