Having reunited musically for the first time in two decades, on Friday (9.29) NSYNC dropped “Better Place”.
Like their countless hits from the early 2000s, Justin Timberlake, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick and JC Chasez have once again made music magic on the infectious pop song from the forthcoming “Trolls Band Together” movie soundtrack (out 11.17.)
Their former boy band’s first collective production since their 2001 album, “Celebrity,” “Better Place” offers up an hooky chorus with “Just let me take you to a better place … I’m so excited, to see you excited” atop a danceable rhythm similar in texture to Timberlake’s fizzy “Can’t Stop the Feeling!” from the first “Trolls” film (2016.)
NSYNC’s new song comes two weeks after the quintet reunited during the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards to present Taylor Swift with the Best Pop award.
The fivesome, who recognized massive success back in the day with such hits as “It’s Gonna Be Me,” “Tearin’ Up My Heart,” “This I Promise You” and “Bye Bye Bye,” were last on stage together ten years ago at the VMAs to briefly perform when Timberlake received the Video Vanguard Award.
After releasing of their fourth studio album, “Celebrity,” (2001) the group parted ways with Timberlake igniting a solo career with his 2002 album, “Justified.”
