North West’s ‘Lion King’ Stage Debut

After playing a young Simba during a live production of The Lion King, North West received a standing ovation.

In celebration of the animated film’s upcoming 30th anniversary, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s 10-year-old daughter took the stage at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles this weekend to sing ‘I Just Can’t Wait to Be King.’

Featuring Broadway star Heather Headley and Grammy-winning Lebo M, along with franchise originals Billy Eichner, Bradley Gibson, Ernie Sabella, Jason Weaver, Jeremy Irons and Nathan Lane, as well as special guest Jennifer Hudson, the two-night Lion King concert was being filmed for a future Disney+ original special.

In addition to her infamous parents, audience members included Norths siblings Saint, Chicago and Psalm, wre her grandmother Kris Jenner; aunt Kourtney Kardashian and uncle Travis Barker.

In an October 2023 interview with i-D magazine, the 10-year old said that “performing is my favourite,’ and when asked what she wants to be when she grows up, North answered “a rapper, a basketball player, and I’m going to make artwork that I sell.”

Kanye and Kim’s daughter made her music debut in 2015 with a cameo in her father’s ‘Only One’ video, and in March, she teased her upcoming debut LP, Elementary School Dropout.
