As part of the upcoming Nina Simone, contemporized collection, Feeling Good: Her Greatest Hits and Remixes deejay/producer Joel Corry has reworked the soul artist’s classic “Feeling Good.”
Adding a modern day club culture spin on the 1965 single, Cory includes hand claps, bass hits, and synth stabs underneath Simone’s classic vocal performance.
Joel’s version of “Feeling Good” is one of seven remixes that will appear on the revised collection including Hot Chip’s take on “Be My Husband,” Floorplan’s remix of “I Put a Spell on You,” and Sofi Tukker’s rework of “Sinnerman” in addition to Riton, Honne, and Rudimental who’ve also contributed to the 2021 set.
Due out October 29th via Verve Records, the Feeling Good remix collection will include some of Simone’s original classics “Mississippi Goddam,” “Strange Fruit,” “I Loves You Porgy,” and “Black Is the Color of My True Love’s Hair.”
