On Friday (9.08) the MTV announced that Nicki Minaj will emcee and perform at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards.
Taking to their social media platform the music television network wrote “SO EXCITED to have @NICKIMINAJ BACK as our emcee at the #VMAs this year!!!!!”
In addition to performing a nine-song medley In 2022, Minaj was one of three MCs alongside LL Cool J and Jack Harlow. This year, the superstar rapper will be the solo emcee and will sing her latest single, ‘Last Time I Saw You.’
Throughout the years, Nicki has won six VMAs from 25 nominations, and in 2022, she was honored with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, a trophy that will be bestowed on Shakira this year.
This year, the musician (born Onika Tanya Maraj) has been nominated for six awards, including Video of the Year for her 2022 track ‘Super Freaky Girl.’
Taking place of 12 September at New Jersey’s Prudential Center, the 2023 award show will include a star-studded lineup of performers including Olivia Rodrigo, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, Lil Wayne, Doja Cat, Demi Lovato, Kelsea Ballerini, Maneskin and Shakira.
