Following his sudden and unexpected exit from last weekend’s show, a Saturday Night Live staffer has spoken out about Morgan Wallen‘s appearance and subsequent disappearance.
After completing his March 29 musical guest slot, the country music superstar created confusion when he walked off the stage unannounced, leaving the show’s producers of the live comedy show scrambling to cover for his absence.
Days after the incident, an employee of the longest-running skit comedy television program explained what happened, telling Mail Online:
“He was unprofessional the entire time and came in with a chip on his shoulder.” “He thought that he was this massive star that deserved to be treated as if they were lucky to have him and when he wasn’t getting that he threw a tantrum.”
Atypical of mingling with the sketch show’s comedians on stage while the credits rolled, the now 31-year old Wallen decided to walk off the stage, leave the studio and travel directly to the airport for a flight home.
“SNL has never had anyone exit before the credits,” “and this really p**sed a lot of people off” claimed the SNL employee.
Once at the airport, Morgan posted a photo of his private jet with the caption, “Get me to God’s Country” which the staffer said went down badly with the SNL team, adding “His post right after was a total slap in the face for the folks who work so hard on the show.”
Morgan was unlikely to be invited back, claiming, “all it did was get him blackballed from ever appearing on SNL again,” concluded the Saturday Night Live employee.
