In response to fans who demanded the songstress sing rather than see her discuss the details surrounding her new visual album film, Miley Cyrus was heckled at her new ‘movie’ screening.
On Friday (6.06,) the Grammy award winner’s new self-directed project, Something Beautiful, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival as a visual album that accompanies her new record of the same name.
Following the movie’s first-ever showing, the sold-out event featured a discussion with Cyrus, her producer Panos Cosmatos, collaborator Jacob Bixenman and co-director Brendan Walter. Yet, the post-film chat was interrupted by disgruntled fans who had paid up to $800.00 a ticket.
“We thought this was a concert!” one attendee screamed out in fan-recorded footage shared online, adding: “We paid $800!,” while another audience member shouted, “Are you actually gonna sing?!”
According to Entertainment Weekly, the 32-year old entertainer looked taken aback by the heckling before asking fans to start singing ‘The Climb’ for her and then delivering a few verses from the song from 2009’s Hannah Montana: The Movie.
