Published on Wednesday (4.09,) in her interview for France’s magazine Paris Match, Melanie Hamrick formally and finally confirmed her engagement to Mick Jagger.
Addressing rumors that suggested the Rolling Stones frontman had proposed to her some two years ago, the former ballerina said “We’ve been engaged two or three years.”
Admitting that she and the now 81-year old rock star, aren’t in a rush to tie the knot, the now 37-year old reflected on the secret to their relationship, adding:
“Maybe one day we’ll marry, maybe not. We are so happy in our current life that I would be too afraid to change anything.” “We try to support each other, be there for each other, and make sure everyone is happy. That’s all that matters to me and all I strive for.”
It was in June of 2023 while promoting her debut novel, ‘First Position,’ that Melanie sparked engagement rumors when she donned a large diamond ring which the writer called a “promise ring”.
In an interview with People, Hamrick said at the time “I mean, I have to giggle because did Mick give me the ring? Yes. Is it for that finger? Yes.” “In my mind, it’s a promise ring. We’ll be immature and call it a promise ring.”
It was in 2014 that Melanie and Mick and subsequently welcomed a son named Deveraux two years later.
The legendary musician’s only legal marriage was to Bianca Jagger from 1971 until their split was finalized in 1978. He is also father to seven other children from previous relationships.
