Michael Jackson Tops Billboard 100 Artist List

Some twenty years following his untimely death, Michael Jackson is currently the biggest artist in the United States.

Having passed away in 2009, the late superstar has topped the Billboard Artist 100 chart for the first time in his illustrious career, driven by the massive success of the Michael biopic starring his nephew, Jaafar Jackson.

Based on activity across streaming, radio airplay, album sales and track sales, Billboard’s Artist 100 ranks the top musicians in the US, with Jackson’s solo catalogue generating 161,200,00 official streams during the May 8-14 tracking week, and selling a combined 46,000 albums.

The recently released biopic has facilitated numerous Jackson’s singles and albums back into the charts around the world.

Including ‘Billie Jean’ at #15; ‘Human Nature’ at #21; ‘Beat It’ at #29; ‘Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough’ at #36; ‘Dirty Diana’ at #44; and ‘Rock With You’ at #46, Michael Jackson’s six songs have simultaneously re-surfaced on Billboard Hot 100.

Joining the likes of David Bowie, Prince, XXXTentacion, Juice WRLD and Pop Smoke, Jackson becomes the sixth artist to top the Artist 100 posthumously.

Along with their lead singer’s solo career, The Jacksons also benefit from the Michael resurgence, as the group reenters the latest Artist 100 at number #98.
