Following months of speculation, Metallica has confirmed their upcoming eight-show residency in October at the Las Vegas Sphere.
Dubbed Life Burns Faster, the band’s drummer Lars Ulrich stated:
“About 12 seconds into the opening night of Sphere with U2 back in ’23, I thought, ‘We have to do this; it’s completely uncharted territory!’ ” “This residency gives us another chance to reinvent how we interact with our fans in a live setting. We are beyond excited to share this with the world in six months’ time, and way f**kin’ psyched to go next level!”
Though Howard Stern attempted to confirm news of a potential Metallica Vegas residency during his August interview, at the time, the stickman said the group was considering the idea, but nothing was yet “etched in stone,” adding “It’s something that we’re looking at, at some point, when the 2026 tour is done.” “I’m not going to bulls**t you: I would f**king love to do it, let there be no question about it.”
The very first band to perform on all seven continents, Metallica are currently touring in support of their 72 Seasons LP with shows scheduled around Europe this summer, including the latest announced dates, two-night stand at England’s London Stadium in Stratford on 5 July.
Tickets for the Metallica at the Sphere will be be available on March 6.
