‘Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words’ Documentary

In her forthcoming documentary, Megan Thee Stallion will open up about her personal life and professional career.

On Monday (10.14,), Amazon/MGM Studios announced that Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words will be available to stream on Prime Video come October 31.

Confirming the news and sharing the official doc poster. the superstar rapper/writer (born Megan Jovon Ruth Pete) wrote:

“Hotties my documentary is out Oct 31st. I’m nervous and excited for yall to see it butttt it’s finally here (sic).”

According to the press release, Megan will reflect on growing up in Houston, Texas, her introduction to rap, and the decision to release her first single, ‘Like a Stallion,’ back in 2016.  The documentary will chronicle the musician’s rise to fame after dropping ‘Savage’ in 2020 that quickly went viral on social media after fans started using it as the soundtrack for dance challenge videos. 

According the summary “Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words offers unprecedented access to the multi-faceted woman behind the persona.” “Follow the Houston native’s journey on the road to stardom as she tenaciously navigates fame, grief, pressure and success. The documentary unpacks Megan’s most vulnerable moments in a powerful way that allows fans to meet the real Megan Pete.”

Unclear as to whether or not the documentary will address the artist’s legal battle against her former 1501 Certified Entertainment record label over a contract dispute in 2020, the case was ultimately settled in October of 2023. 

In addition, Megan did not confirm whether or not she will speak about her court case against singer-rapper Tory Lanez whom she accused of shooting her in both feet in July 2020. Lanez was subsequently charged over the incident and sentenced to 10 years in prison. 

Now 29-years old, in June Megan released her self-titled third studio full length.
