Martin Garrix’s Emergency Surgery

“Truly heartbroken” to have cancelled this weekend’s concert in Mexico, Martin Garrix was forced to undergo urgent surgery.

Suffering from appendicitis, which requires immediate medical attention, the now 29-year-old Dutch DJ was forced to pull out The Festival International Del Globo in León, Guanajuato, on Saturday (11.15.) as the headliner for the festival’s Dream Nite event.

Taking to social media statement, alongside a picture in his hospital room, the superstar deejay/producer/artist wrote:

“I’m truly heartbroken to share that due to an unexpected case of appendicitis and the surgery that followed, I’m unable to perform at the Festival International Del Globo this saturday. my doctors and team have strongly advised me to rest and recover to avoid any post-surgery complications. please know this decision wasn’t made lightly — I have some of my favorite memories ever performing in this incredible country and at @figleon !! thank you so much for your understanding, love and support.. a good reminder for me that I’m human too, and my body needs some extra time to properly heal. sending lots of love — I’ll be back soon, I promise. (sic)” “big hug,” “Martijn.”

Having recently joined U2’s Bono onstage to perform their UEFA EURO 2020 anthem ‘We Are the People’ at Colorado’s Red Rocks, Garrix was just added to the lineup for Ultra Music Festival 2026 where he will play a B2B set with his ‘Inside Our Hearts’ collaborator Alesso.
