Mariah Carey’s Katy Perry Comment

Following her candid response to the news that Katy Perry went to space, Mariah Carey has since gone viral.

Referring to the six women – including Katy Perry – who made history in April when they reached space (aboard Amazon founder Jeff Bezos’s rocket as part of the Blue Origin NS-13 mission,) during a recent interview on BBC Radio 2’s The Scott Mills Breakfast Show, the host asked Mariah whether she would ever “fancy” going to space.

After Carey asked “Did she go to space?,” Mills confirmed Katy boarded the flight, with Mariah responding, “Where’d she go?”

After an off-camera crew member shouted, “Just into orbit and back,” the Grammy award winner queried “Into orbit and back? She was, like, floating in the… and this is true?” to which Scott replied, “Yeah, I have not made this up. This is true.”

“Wow. Alright Katy,” a seemingly shocked Mariah mused, adding: “I’m not mad at her. That’s pretty amazing.”

Joking that Katy hasn’t stopped talking about the 11-minute voyage, Scott asked the Queen of Christmas “But it happened. Would you do it?” with the 56-year-old singer quipping: “I think I’ve done enough.”

Following the brief conversation, the clip quickly racked up over 38,000 likes on Instagram and generated a lot of praise in the comments section, including “Seems like someone else went to space,” from Chelsea Handler, while Kerry Washington gushed, “I think I’ve done enough!!!!! AMEN.”

Scheduled to drop September 26, Mariah Carey is currently promoting her sixteenth studio album, Here for It All.
