After being passed over for a third consecutive year for Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction, Mariah Carey is unfazed by the snub.
On Monday (4.20,) when asked by TMZ whether the superstar singer/songwriter was frustrated at missing out again, Carey responded “No,” and adding that the omission had little impact on her, the five-Grammy award winner said “I love my fans, always.” “Who cares? Like, give it to somebody else, fantastic.”
Eligible for the Rock Hall in 2016 and receiving her first nomination in 2024, despite a record-breaking career – including nineteen #1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 and six chart-topping LPs on the Billboard 200 – the native New Yorker has yet to be inducted into the prestigious music institution.
In addition to Marah, Lauryn Hill, Pink, Shakira, Jeff Buckley, The Black Crowes, INXS, New Edition and Melissa Etheridge were also nominated but failed to secure enough votes for this year’s induction ceremony that will take place on November 14 in Los Angeles.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame class of 2026 inductees include Oasis, Phil Collins, Wu-Tang Clan, Billy Idol, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order, Sade and the late Luther Vandross.
