Madonna has given a thumbs up to her fellow Grammy award winner Sabrina Carpenter‘s debut Vogue cover photoshoot.
Posing in an ice-blue satin cone bra corset minidress from Dolce & Gabbana, on Tuesday (2.11,) Carpenter was unveiled as the focus of the iconic U.S. fashion magazine’s March 2025 issue.
Photographed by Steven Meisel, many a Madonna fan was quick to mention that Sabrina’s photoshoot was quite similar to the now 66-year old superstar’s 1991 Vanity Fair cover story in which she embiodied Marilyn Monroe,
In the comments section of a Vogue Instagram post, the Queen of Pop blessed the concept writing “Is this a Valentines present to me?”
Not the first time Sabrina paid homage to Madonna, the 25-year old singer/songwriter wore a white sequin Bob Mackie gown to the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards last September. The same outfit Madonna singer first wore to the Academy Awards in 1991. And in her interview for Vogue, Sabrina explained that when she was recording her sixth studio album, Short n’ Sweet, she was inspired by a number of women, adding “(I was) feeling inspired by images of women that felt very strong and hyper-feminine. And then being like: ‘If only she said what she was actually thinking,'” the 25-year-old recalled.
