Madonna, Bieber + More Headline FIFA Halftime Show

Making history by introducing the tournament’s first-ever halftime show, the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final presented a Super Bowl-style entertainment spectacle during the world’s biggest soccer match.

On July 19, during the final game at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, highlights from the massive event’s mid-game entertainment included co-headliners Shakira, Madonna, Justin Bieber, and BTS.

Curated by Chris Martin of Coldplay, who oversaw the artistic direction and performer lineup, additional appearances included Burna Boy, conductor Gustavo Dudamel with the Muppets, the PS22 Chorus, and special guest appearances.

Lasting only 11 minutes, the halftime show supported the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, an initiative to raise money for children’s education and access to football around the world.

Evoking considerable discussion, the live performance portion was the most ambitious entertainment productions ever staged at a soccer match, and while some traditional football supporters questioned whether a Super Bowl-style halftime show belongs in the World Cup, many a fan enjoyed the star-studded spectacle.

The World Cup final itself saw Spain defeat Argentina 1–0 to win the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
