It was during her headlining concert at the Pride festival in West Hollywood, that Lizzo delivered an empowering speech in support of black trans women, stating:
“This is dedicated to you and, more importantly, the black trans women who, without their fight, we would not be able to celebrate today.” “And we still in some s**t, right? But hopefully, one day we will see a place where we no longer have to fight to exist. This is for you.”
Applauding the trans community for fighting against “the systems that tried to erase them,” the superstar singer/songwriter added:
“In honour of that fight, we have to continue to take a stand against that very same system that threatens our rights to bodily autonomy and liberation. We ain’t free until we’re all free.”
Accompanied by a pianist, the musician (born Melissa Viviane Jefferson) performed a stripped-down version of ‘Over the Rainbow,’ from the 1939 Wizard of Oz anthem. And the Detroit-born star showcased her famously full figure in underwear after reaching her weight-loss goal in January.
Losing 16% of her body fat, yet refuses to reveal exactly how much weight she’s shed, last week on the The Jason Lee Show she shared “If I say the number, I don’t think people could do the math,” the Love in Real Life singer told.” “I’ve just seen a lot of TikToks where it’s like, ‘Lizzo talks about her 500-pound weight loss!’ Why are y’all putting numbers on me?
