Madonna’s ‘Confessions II’ Is #1

More than two decades since Confessions on a Dance Floor topped global charts, Madonna‘s Confessions II debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 as well as the official UK Albums Chart.

Her latest LP success marks the first time the superstar singer/songwriter has dominated the Billboard album charts in the 2020s.

Beginning with 1984’s Like a Virgin, the 67-year old musician has now secured ten #1 albums in the United States, becoming the fourth artist to rack up 10 Number Ones on both the Billboard 200 and the Hot 100, joining the Beatles, Taylor Swift and Drake.

Confessions II marks Madonna’s 13th UK #1 making her the first US female artist to score number-one LPs across five different decades.

In Great Britain, the sequel to her 2005 record Confessions on a Dance Floor pushed her past Elvis Presley, placing her in a tie for fifth place among the artists with the most UK #1 full lengths of all time.

In addition to the US, UK, and Australia, Confessions II it debuted at number one in Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Italy, the Netherlands and Switzerland.

Rolling Stone has called her latest collection Madonna’s “best album in 20 years”.
