Lionel Richie Hospitalized

On Saturday (8.29,) amid his Sing a Song All Night Long tour with Earth, Wind & Fire, Lionel Richie checked himself into intensive care after his performance in St Louis.

With doctors looking into possible dehydration, it was while performing his final song, ‘All Night Long,’ that the 77-year old musician asked his team to bring him a chair.

Not the first time this has happened, on June 24 the multi-Grammy award winner cut short a concert in St Paul, Minnesota, after falling ill on stage. It was during the first show of his tour, that Richie told the crowd he was feeling dizzy and performed ‘Dancing on the Ceiling’ while seated.

“When you’re feeling dizzy, sit your ass down,” joked the superstar singer/songwriter, before sitting down at a piano to perform ‘Three Times a Lady’ and then taking an impromptu intermission.

In the aftermath of that incident, Richie, postponed two show once his doctors advised he “rest and return to full health,” and taking to Instagram, the musician assured fans he was “doing well” adding “Thank you for every message, every kind word, and for all your love. I’m doing well, and I’m grateful for all of you.”

Lionel Richie is next scheduled to perform in San Francisco on September 26.
