Lil Nas X Pleads Not Guilty To Battery

Following last week’s arrest in Los Angeles, Lil Nas X has pleaded not guilty to felony charges.

Appearing behind a glass partition and wearing a blue jumpsuit, the superstar rapper appeared in court on Monday (8.25.)

Born Montero Lamar Hill, the now 26-year old musician was charged with three counts of battery with injury on a police officer, and one felony count of resisting an executive officer.

According to The Associated Press, the singer allegedly charged at officers when they confronted him walking naked on Ventura Boulevard shortly before 6 am on Friday (8.22.)

Suspected of suffering from a potential overdose, the California police took Nas X to a nearby hospital, where he spent several hours before being transferred to jail and initially booked on suspicion of misdemeanor obstructing an officer.

TMZ reported that the Atlanta-native was released on $75,000 bail and was ordered not to own, use or process illegal narcotics as part of his bail package, and he has been mandated to an outpatient program.

Though he denied that his son was suffering from drug abuse issues, the singer’s father, Robert Stafford, told reporters that his son was focused on getting the help he needed.
