Liam Gallagher has offered his opinion on this past weekend’s Saturday Night Live sketch that made fun of his feud with brother Noel Gallagher.
As part of the Weekend Update segment during the latest episode of the long-running comedy show that aired on October 12, Sarah Sherman and James Austin Johnson portrayed the Oasis bandmates who’ve famously feuded for decades.
“I’m cool if he’s cool,” Johnson declared as Noel, with Sherman responding as Liam: “I’m cool. I’m cool. I’m cooler than you are.”
When the show’s host Colin Jost asked the “brothers” to rank their favorite cartoon characters, name their top Sex and the City boyfriend, and list their go-to Will Smith films, the musical siblings weren’t able to agree on anything, subsequent to which Johnson and Sherman yelled in unison, “We’re not going on tour!”
Apparently, the comedic segment did not appeal to the the real 52-year old Liam Gallagher, who took to X on Sunday (10.13) with “Are they meant to be comedians.”
Now 57, Liam’s brother Noel, has yet to comment on the three-minute-long sketch.
After some 15 years after of disbanding the group in 2009, in August, Liam and Noel announced they would reform Oasis for concerts across cities in England and Ireland come July 2025, And following huge demand, the British hitmakers added additional concert dates in North America and Australia.
