During a recent Jonas Brothers concert, Nick Jonas ran off the stage following a laser pointer incident.
At the siblings’ O2 Arena show in Prague, the show was delayed after an audience member aimed a laser pointer at the superstar singer which caused him to quickly exit stage left for safety reasons.
Footage of the incident that has since gone viral shows Nick making a ‘time out’ sign with his hands to his security team as ran down the stage steps and through an aisle, past fans and out of sight.
In a statement about the incident, an O2 Arena spokesperson told Variety “We can confirm that the Jonas Brothers’ performance had to be interrupted for several minutes due to the use of a prohibited laser pointer by the person.” “The organizing service responded to this fact. After a few minutes, the band continued their performance.”
The Jonas Brothers are currently playing the rescheduled European leg of the band’s Five Albums, One Night tour, which came to a close in Krakow, Poland.
Not the first musician to face safety concerns, Adele, Kelsea Ballerini, Harry Styles and Bebe Rexha have experienced a string of incidents where fans hurled objects onto the stage while they were performing and Taylor Swift cancelled three shows in Vienna in August after a terrorist threat.
At press time, Nick Jonas has not publicly addressed the incident.
