Kim Petras Drops ‘Problematiqué’ LP: Listen

On Monday (9.18,) Kim Petras Stan surprise-dropped Problématique, her originally-scrapped, partially-leaked full length.

Co-produced by Dr. Luke, Aaron Joseph, and Vaughn Oliver, the 10-track album features such songs as “Born Again,” “Something About U,” “Dirty Things,” and “All She Wants” featuring Paris Hilton.

In a statement via the Associated Press, Petras said “It was shocking when I found out part of the album leaked — at the time — that it wasn’t ever going to come out, especially as I poured so much of myself into it.” “I was heartbroken but, at the same time, it was really exciting to see my fans listening to the tracks and loving them.”

Initially scheduled to be Petras’ debut LP, Problematique was put on hold but subsequently leaked online in 2022. At the time, Petras welcomed fans to “listen to the leaks” since her new music was in “limbo” adding “I’m not getting to put out any music anyways I’m fucked.” “I’m devastated idk how all of this happened and I just wanna quit.”

Problématique was set to follow the release of Slut Pop, which was also co-produced by Joseph and Luke.

According to the track list originally shared in 2021 by Joseph, the original version of Problématique featured several songs that ended up on her album Feed the Beast – including “Revelations,” “Coconuts,” and “Hit It From the Back” – which she dropped in June. The new full length doesn’t feature what would have been its lead single, “Future Starts Now.”

Petras will launch her Feed the Beast World Tour with a performance at Life Is Beautiful on Friday (9.22) before doing shows in Boston, New York City, Los Angeles, Pheonix, and San Diego.

Over the last several days, Petras has released “Symphonic Sessions” of the songs she released on Feed the Beast, where she performs fan favorites from the LP such as “Claws,” backed by an orchestra.
