After her former boyfriend Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was found innocent of sex trafficking, Kesha and Aubrey O’Day have voiced support for Cassie Ventura.
While they found the defendant guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, earlier this week, the New York Jury found the defamed rapper not guilty of racketeering conspiracy and two charges of sex trafficking, one of which related to Cassandra Ventura’s allegations.
Following the verdict, Kesha took to X in support of Cassie for coming forward with her claims about the rapper, writing “Cassie, I believe you.” “I love you. Your strength is a beacon for every survivor.”
Since the sexual abuse claims against Combs were first made public in 2023, the superstar singer (born Kesha Rose Sebert) who had sexual claims of her own against producer Dr Luke, has changed the opening lyrics of her 2010 song Tik Tok from “feeling like P. Diddy” to “f**k P. Diddy”.
Recruited for the girl group Danity Kane on Combs’ 2005 TV show Making the Band, Aubrey O’Day told her Instagram followers she found the verdict “heartbreaking.” Outspoken about the music mogul for years now, the singer added “My heart is with Cassie. A woman who could’ve had a life and career free of fear and control. A woman who told her truth in a courtroom, only to have the world dissect her credibility instead of her courage.”
Born Casandra Ventura, the now 38-year old served as a key witness during the trial and testified for four days while heavily pregnant. Though she has yet to comment on the verdict personally, her attorney Douglas H. Wigdor issued a statement crediting her with starting the criminal process against Combs by filing a lawsuit in late 2023, and for paving the way for his conviction on the prostitution charges.
