Kelly Clarkson’s Ex: Dead At 48

Following a three-year battle with cancer, Kelly Clarkson‘s ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, has passed away at the age of 48.

On Thursday (8.07,), a representative for the Blackstock family confirmed that Clarkson’s former husband and talent manager had passed away “peacefully” adding:

“It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away.” “Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.”

In order to spend time with her and her ex-husband’s children; daughter River (11,) and son Remington (9,) on Wednesday (8.06,), Clarkson confirmed she was postponing her Las Vegas residency. And revealing for the very first time that the Texas native had been “ill,” The Kelly Clarkson Show host took to Instagram with:

“Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas.” “While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill, and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them. I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows, and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding.”

Not yet personally commented on the news, the now 43-year-old superstar singer/songwriter was married to Blackstock from 2013 until their 2022 divorce.

The son of producer-manager Narvel Blackstock and former stepson of country music superstar Reba McEntire, Brandon was previously married to Melissa Ashworth between 2001 and 2012, with whom he shared daughter Savannah (23,) and son Seth (18.)

Throughout his career, Blackstock also managed country musicians including Blake Shelton and Rascal Flatts.
