During Monday’s (5.13) chat with guest Whoopi Goldberg on The Kelly Clarkson Show, the superstar singer addressed the rumors surrounding her recent weight loss.
“My doctor chased me for like two years and I was like, ‘No, I’m afraid of it. I already have thyroid problems,'” “Everybody thinks it Ozempic. It’s not. It’s something else, but it’s something that aids in helping break down the sugar – obviously, my body doesn’t do it right,” said Clarkson “I ended up having to do that, because my blood work got so bad.”
At her heaviest, Kelly admitted she weighing in at 203 pounds and that she was shocked by her appearance when she watched herself on the television, recalling:
“We were in my house in New York like watching and then all of a sudden I paused and I was like, ‘Who the f**k is that?’ I swear to God, it sounds insane.” “You see it. And you’re like, ‘Well, she about to die of a heart attack.'”
Though she did not reveal which medication she was taking, the now 42-year old talk show host said that while those around her were concerned about her larger size she was not “miserable and depressed.”
In their candid conversation, Whoopi, admitted to using the type 2 diabetes medication Mounjaro, and told Clarkson that she’s lost the weight of “almost two people,” adding “I’m doing that wonderful shot that works for folks who need some help and it’s been really good for me. It’s great for people like us who have, you know, issues.”
