Katy Perry‘s attempt to win a $6,000,000.00 judgment against an elderly disabled veteran has been labeled “unforgivable”.
According to the family of Carl Westcott – who suffers from Huntington’s disease, a neurological disorder – is outraged that the superstar musician is suing the 85-year-old for back rent and alleged damages.
In an interview with US Sun, Westcott’s son, Chart Westcott stated:
“It’s unforgivable how they have conducted their affairs.” “If an old man apologises and says he made a mistake, and she’s a rich pop star who can buy any other house in the world, you’d think she would let the old man go on his way.””It’s entitled celebrity behaviour.”
In 2024, Perry and her actor spouse Orlando Bloom prevailed in a court battle with the military veteran, who had accused her of taking advantage of him to buy his mansion in Southern California.
In 2020, the singer and thespian purchased the luxurious home in Montecito from Westcott.
Currently in hospice care, Westcott signed the property deal but later claimed his judgment was impaired by surgery and pain medication, and in 2023, a Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge concluded the property rightfully belonged to Perry.
