Kanye West Faces Fired Caretaker Lawsuit

Seeking $1,000,000.00 in unpaid wages, Kanye West is facing yet another court battle concerning his Malibu mansion project … this time from a former employee.

With jury selection having started yesterday, the September 2023-filed lawsuit claims the embattled musician subjected his former staffer Tony Saxon to unsafe and hazardous working conditions, disability discrimination, unpaid wages and reimbursements along with wrongful retaliatory termination.

Having bought the beachfront Malibu home in 2021, according to the initial complaint, West retained Saxon as project manager for the extensive renovation, including “full-time security” and a “live-in caretaker” for the property at a $20,000.00 per week salary.

According to the plaintiff, he only received one of those payments, and also alleges that he was forced to sleep in “makeshift conditions” on the property, and that West ignored his complaints.

Taking to Instagram in 2025, Saxon wrote “He wanted to have a bomb shelter / bunker in the basement to hide from ‘Clintons and Kardashians’, all while living on a public beach, and have his house have no electricity, no windows, no plumbing, and no stairs!” “Also messed my neck and back up for life, and he knows it.”

Come the beginning of November 2021, Saxon claims he “injured his back severely” and requested time off to rest, but Kanye allegedly demanded progress on the house continue, subsequent to which Tony was allegedly terminated for not complying with the “dangerous requests” made by West.

According to a press release published on behalf of his law firm, Saxon claims he is owed in excess of $1,000,000.00 in unpaid wages, loss of earnings, and compensation for medical expenses and emotional distress.
