Streamed live via Apple Music, the second of two Kanye West album previews was more theatrical than the first.
Taking center stage, West stood within a minimal set featuring a bed and was eventually encircled by a crowd of bodies. Starting with a video of the Jeezy’s living space at the arena it showed Kanye and others finishing the Donda album. And the climax of the event came when the musician flew high into the air while his single ‘No Child Left Behind’ played.
The full length material played in a different order than the previous mid-July event and included new songs from The Weeknd, Lil Yachty, Lil Durk and Jay Electronica.
Following the initial listening party at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium the album was expected to arrive today (06.08.21), but fans of the controversial rapper are still waiting on the much-anticipated project to drop on streaming services,
In support of his participation Cudi tweeted: “I wasnt on Donda when I tweeted that I wasnt. Ye hit me the followin week and we made it work. Realest ***** alive. No need to lie to kick it . Hope u guys enjoy!! (sic)”
With the likes of Travis Scott, Young Thug, Baby Keem, Francis, The Lights, and more, TIDAL shared the complete list of collaborators via social media along with features from Playboi Carti, Pusha T and Roddy Ricch.
With a revised August 9 release date,’Donda’ is now available to pre-order on iTunes, though Apple Music states that the record will arrive on August 7.
