Despite a small fire breaking out above the stage, Kacey Musgraves continued her recent show at TD Garden in Boston.
It was while performing ‘Golden Hour, that the superstar singer/songwriter was surrounded by a ring of sparks showering down from the ceiling above when the pyrotechnic ring hanging above the stage caught on fire.
Keeping her composure, the 38-year old songstress made jokes as she addressed the flames that burned above her head, stating “That looks bad. Genuinely, something’s on fire.” “I have way too much hairspray to be standing under that s**t.”
According to social media clips that have since gone viral, Kacey told the crowd to “pretend” like there was nothing wrong as she tried to continue the show, adding:
“Anyway, I found myself spending a lot of time alone in the making of this album, and I didn’t really love spending a lot of time alone. It gives me anxiety.” “So does that.” “But genuinely, it seems fine, right?!” “I only like pyro when I know what’s going to happen.” “Does anyone have a bedazzled fire extinguisher anywhere?” before launching into her next song.
According to an attendee, the fire eventually went out on its own.
In support of her LP of the same name, Musgraves launched her Middle of Nowhere tour in Chicago on August 21 and is next scheduled to perform at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Monday and Tuesday nights.
