In response to Chloe Fineman’s Saturday Night Live impression of the musician’s new look, JoJo Siwa gives her thumbs up.
Seated next to Weekend Update’s Colin Jost on Saturday night (5.04), the show’s impersonator donned a black and silver sparkly bodysuit and KISS-inspired make-up. Similar to Siwa’s new, aggressive look, Fineman mimicked JoJo’s dance moves to her new song ‘Karma’ and during her chat with Jost, she declared, “I’m in my bad girl era now” and that “no one my age has done” an edgy rebrand before. Adding that she’s “the first gay girl in the world” the comedian poked fun at the singer/dancer’s assertion that she invented a new genre of music called “gay pop”.
Now 20 years old, on Sunday (5.05), the the former Dance Moms star approved the skit by taking to her Instagram Stories and sharing the SNL clip with the caption “ICONIC. I literally don’t know what to say. This is f**king crazy. 3 and a half minute skit on SNL…”
In response to Jojo’s post Chloe replied “@itsjojosiwa you are my spirit animal (rock fingers) and ACTUALLY the most iconic.”
For context, in an interview last month with Billboard. Siwa was slammed last month after she made the “gay pop” declaration, stating “When I first signed with Columbia, I said I wanted to start a new genre of music.” “They said, ‘What do you mean?’, and I said, ‘It’s called ‘gay pop’. It’s like K-pop but it’s gay pop.'”
