Launching the British leg of her Radical Optimism Tour, on Friday (6.20) Dua Lipa kicked off the first of two sold-out shows at London’s iconic Wembley Stadium.
In front of 75,000 fans, the 3x Grammy and 7x Brit Award winner delivered a stunning performance packed with hits, surprises, and show-stopping fashion.
Following a successful run of sold-out Europe, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand dates, the now 29-year old’s 23-song setlist opened with “Training Season” followed by such fan favorites as “Break My Heart,” and “One Kiss” before singing “Hotter Than Hell” for the first time in nearly six years, prior to which she said “This is the song that got me signed, and it’s the song that started everything. With weather like this, there’s only one song I could do.” The night continued with an illustrious string rendition of “Maria,” electric performances of “Physical” and “Illusion,” and a high-energy finale featuring chart-toppers “Don’t Start Now” and “Houdini.”
An unexpected highlight of the superstar singer’s homecoming show was a surprise appearance by Jamiroquai, welcoming the legendary artist to the stage for an unforgettable duet of his 1996 iconic hit, “Virtual Insanity.”
