Is Timbaland Teasing New Timberlake Collaboration? Look + Listen

No strangers in the studio, it looks as if Timbaland and Justin Timberlake may be collaborating on new music.

On Wednesday (12.29,) Timberland posted a video of him, JT and Ant Clemons (who performed “Better Days” alongside Justin during the Celebrating America concert following President Joe Biden’s inauguration) in the studio to a new snippet.  And the Verzuz co-creator captioned the footage with a series of suspicious eye emojis and “Soon to come.”

Of particular interest is Timbaland’s baby voice that he first made popular on Aaliyah’s Grammy-nominated 1998 single “Are You That Somebody?” (that was recently released on streaming services for the first time, along with the late R&B singer’s discography.) Clemons can be heard screaming in the video, which Anderson .Paak teased him about in the comments section. “N—a why you screaming like that @antclemons.”

In the video, Clemons exclaims to Timberake, “You brought the baby back! You should put the baby on this and Lil Baby.” “And DaBaby,” JT chimes in with a laugh. “And my baby.”

The superstar producer and singer reunited this past spring on Justine Skye’s latest album Space and Time‘ which Timbaland executive produced and Timberlake sang on “Innocent.”

Earlier this month, the mega-producer teased another major release/reunion with Missy, which would be her first full-length album since 2005’s The Cookbook.
