According to her recent Tweet, Madonna appears to be back in the studio recording new music.
Taking to her social media account on Friday (9.20,) the superstar singer (born Madonna Louise Ciccone) posted “Back at it……..,” along with four photos of herself hard at work in the recording booth. In two of the pics, Madonna hovers over a laptop, transcribing her handwritten notes in redacted form and in another, she’s seated at a piano, wearing sunglasses and fingerless black gloves with her pink hair.
In August, Madonna released Finally Enough Love: 50 Number Ones, the remix collection of her historic 50 chart-topping hits on Billboard‘s Dance Club Songs chart (between the 1983 “Holiday” to 2019 “I Don’t Search I Find”) that earned the pop legend her third No. 1 on the Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart (dated 9.03).
The icon’s last proper full-length LP of new material was Madame X (2019) which secured her ninth #1 on the Billboard 200 and gave way to singles “Medellín” with Maluma, “Crave” with Swae Lee, “I Rise,” and the original version of “I Don’t Search I Find.” Inspired by her life in Lisbon, Portugal, the Latin-influenced record also included collabs with Quavo (“Future”), Anitta (“Faz Gostoso”) and another with Maluma (“Bitch I’m Loca”).
Since Madame X, the dance-leaning diva teamed up with Beyoncé on “Break My Soul (The Queens Remix),” Saucy Santana on the “Material Girl”-sampling “Material Gworrllllllll!” and Tokischa on “Hung Up on Tokischa.”
