Having risen to prominence as one half of the Chloe x Halle duo with her sister, Halle Bailey has announced plans for Love? Or Something Like It, her first-ever solo album, due out on October 24.
Taking to social media on Wednesday (10.08), the singer/actress wrote “love? or something like it – my debut album.” “a story of first love, heartbreak, and everything that comes after. out 10/24. this one means everything to me. (sic)”
In an Instagram video, the Hollywood actress/songstress appears in a red tulle dress and narrates the beginning of her story, saying “Once upon a time, there was a young girl that believed in love. She believed everyone belonged to someone, soul for soul. “All she ever wanted in life was to find the truest form of love. Was it ever possible? And here’s what happened.”
Alongside her a collaboration with Leon Thomas on ‘Rather Be Alone’ from the Heel deluxe edition of his Mutt LP, earlier this year, the 25-year old chanteuse released solo singles ‘Braveface’ and ‘Back and Forth.’
In 2018, Halle x Chloe dropped The Kids Are Alright, followed by Ungodly Hour in 2020, and on her own Chloe has released two solo albums In Pieces and Trouble In Paradise in 2023.
Insisting that the sisters are not done making music together, Chloe told POPSUGAR “My sister and I are very, very excited to work on our new album together, as well as just let these amazing solo projects come out for both of us.”
Each other’s biggest supporters, about their respective solo ventures, she added “This journey has been a really beautiful one. My sister and I are so close, she’s like my arm … And she’s my biggest supporter. I’m her biggest supporter.” “We’re just really excited to be able to be doing all of this together and for this all to be happening. I’m so proud of her.”
