In response to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce accolade, the superstar singer/songwriter and longtime judge on The Voice said “Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think, this girl right here from Orange County, would have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” Gwen told the crowd. “It just doesn’t make sense to me.”
Accompanied at the ceremony by her 47-year old husband/country musician, Blake Shelton, and her three sons, Kingston (17,) Zuma, (15,) and Apollo, (9,) the former No Doubt frontman acknowledged music executive Jimmy Iovine who attended the ceremony alongside country icon Reba McEntire.
Talking about the first time she met Iovine at a music showcase, where he predicted she’d be a “star,” Stefani said:
“You said ‘In six years, you’re going to be a star.’ And I said ‘six years, that’s just weird!’ Like, ‘in six years I’m going to be pregnant with my fifth child. I won’t be doing music.” “Six years on the dot ‘Don’t Speak’ was number one around the world and he was right!”
In addition to securing her Walk Of Fame star, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Steven Nissen announced that Thursday, October 19 was now officially named ‘Gwen Stefani Day.’
